WAYANAD PLATEAU - WILDLIFE, ETHNIC VILLAGES, ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES AND CHALLANGING PEAKS FOR HIKING
Wayanad Wildlife sanctuary of Kerala is located in the tri-junction of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, comprising the biggest stretch of protected enclave in India. This is located in the heart of Nilgiri Biosphere reserve comprising Silent Valley, Wayanad, Muthumalai, Bandipur and Nagarhole National parks. Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary shares its flora and fauna with Bandipur, Muthumalai and Nagarhole National parks. Wayanad sanctuary has two divisions Muthanga and Tholpetty range The nearest town to Muthanga is Sultanbattery . Manthavadi is the nearest town to Tholpetty. The Muthanga range shares its flora and fauna with Bandipur National park,l where as Tholpetty with Nagarhole National Park. Both the ranges offers jeep safari, study tour to wayanad, accommodation in Wayanad, Accommodation in Muthanga, Accommodation in Tholpetty.
JEEP SAFARI AND WALKING SAFARI
We offer Jeep safaris in Muthanga range and Tholpetty range with our wildlife tour packages. The safari is in side open jeep guided by a naturalist. Each safari is exclusive for one group to a maximum of 5 persons in one jeep. Tholpetty safari can be supplemented with Nagarhole safari and Kabini safari in Nagarhole National Park. The Walking safari is offered in Thirunelly to Bhramagiri peak, an active wildlife corridor. Trek to Chembra peak, Banasura hill etc are also offered.
VILLAGE EXPERIENCE TOURS
We offer village experience tour in Vythiri, Muthanga and Thirunelli. This activity oriented programme is starts hiking through village farms, worship places, plantations, tribal hamlets, village industries etc. Wayanad is famous for its spices, especially the most known ‘Telichery pepper’. The tour is guided by a local person from the village. The village members prepare a traditional banana leaf lunch, refreshments etc for the guest. A full day package is supplemented with evening jeep safari. The trek offers village activity experience, birding and wildlife viewing.
