CHIMMONY-A WATERWORLD TREKKING AND CAMPING
Chimmony Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Western slope of Western Ghats. The distance is 80 km from Cochin and 36 km from Thrisur town. This protected forest is the habitat of 39 species of mammals and 200 species of birds. The park offers nature trails, wildlife trek, bamboo rafting and camping.
TWO DAYS WALKING SAFARI & CAMP FROM COCHIN
Day-1 Departure after breakfast from Cochin. Proceed to Chimmony Wildlife Sanctaury. Check in to the sanctuary. After and introduction by the naturalist about the trip, pack things for one night stay. Lunch will be provided before the hike. About the hike : The trekking is of moderate level hike through evergreen forest patches and lake side.Things to carry : A small bag enough to carry your personal belongings for two days. Sun screen, hat, dull cotton cloths etc are essential. Shoes or sandal with good grip is essential for walking. Climate : The climate is very tropical and hot during sunny days. Overnight camp : After hiking you can settle in dome tents for overnight stay. Dinner will be provided in the campsite. Day-2: Start hiking after breakfast, searching for wildlife , birds etc enjoying the landscape of the sanctuary. Return to base station for lunch. After lunch check out form the sanctuary and proceed to Athirapilly Water falls. reach Athirapilly by 3 pm. Visit to the falls. Return to Cochin.
