The camp is located in a very important eco-system consists of natural high altitude grassland, natural forest, and farm forest. The area is occupied villagers for spice plantation. There are plenty of endemic flora and fauna surviving in this fragile land like Mausa nettle, Myristica , mesua , dalbergia etc like trees; Nilgiri Marten, Nilgiri Tahr , stripe necked mangoose, Travancore palm civet, travancore flying squirrel etc like mammals and Malabar trogon, Nilgiri Wood pigeon, Nilgiri blue flycatcher etc. The Tahr camp giving awareness to the plantaors and volunteers who are selected from villages. They are actively participated in the camp as naturalists and hosts. There by recording the flora and fauna of the area.
